Description : L‘église Sainte-Valérie de Chambon-sur-Voueize, dont la construction commença au début du Moyen Âge, était l’église du monastère bénédictin de la ville. Le monastère fut fondé à la fin du Xe siècle par l’abbaye Saint-Martial de Limoges. Très vite il abrita les reliques de Valérie, sainte limousine de grande importance, convertie au christianisme par saint Martial. Cette église devint église paroissiale avant la fin de l’Ancien Régime pour remplacer l’église Saint-Martial devenue trop vétuste.
